Inspired by our desire to nurture people through food and wine, each month we host an intimate multicourse dinner in our open-air pavilion space. On Friday, November 17, Filipe Herrarte from Donum Estate will be joining us. Donum ("Gift of the Land") is owned by businessman Allan Warburg and has become known as one of the most spectacular wineries in the area. The winery is due north of San Pablo Bay and south of Highway 12 in Carneros between Napa and Sonoma. It used to be a dairy farm, home to 100-year-old Olive Trees, 200 species of migratory birds, lavender fields, and amazing art and sculptures. Donum Estate is a leader in single-vineyard, single appellation of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Defiance Ridge owner, Chuck Gillentine, was fortunate to visit Donum Estate in February of this year and had one of the most amazing tasting experiences in his career. Before he left and after walking the incredible grounds, he asked Filipe about visiting Defiance Ridge and hosting a dinner. They later worked out a date, and we are thrilled to share this experience with our members and friends. Chuck’s favorite wines are Pinot Noir-based, and these do not disappoint! This will be an opportunity to purchase some incredible wines that are difficult to find. We hope you’ll join us for a very special evening.
